“Light-Struck: Abstract Photography Today” On Exhibit During September
Archives , Exhibitions
Light-Struck: Abstract Photography Today, a juried exhibition, is on display at PHOTOSTOP from September 2-30, 2011. Installation views of the exhibit are above. Click on the photo to see the entire view.
The Light-Struck exhibition features photographs that are, as scholar and curator Lyle Rexer said in his book The Edge of Vision: The Rise of Abstraction in Photography, “photographs without pictures, or rather, photographs that refuse to disclose fully the images they contain”. The chosen photographs have come to the PHOTOSTOP gallery from all over the continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Brazil and will display a wide variety of techniques and approaches to the medium.
